Job summary

Achieve Beyond Pediatric Therapy & Autism Services seeks a dedicated Occupational Therapist in Suffolk, NY to evaluate and treat children in homes, clinics, and community settings. Join a collaborative team delivering high-quality pediatric services across NYC metro and surrounding areas.

You will provide pediatric OT evaluations and ongoing therapy, coordinate with families, and document progress while enjoying a flexible schedule and supportive supervisors in a dynamic clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Must be NYS Licensed Occupational Therapist
• 1-2 years of experience working with children birth–5 preferred
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric therapy services and/or evaluations to children aged birth–21 years in natural settings.
• Educate families and caregivers on intervention strategies to facilitate involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as client homes, daycare centers, preschools, clinics, and community settings.
• Follow the individualized therapy plan, plan ongoing treatment, and address goals while documenting progress.
• Prepare progress reports as indicated and maintain child records with confidentiality per HIPAA and regulations.
• Travel to assigned cases using personal vehicle or other transportation as needed.

Job Responsibilities for a Occupational Therapist:

• Provide pediatric therapy services and/or evaluations to children aged birth – 21 years in a natural setting.
• Educate families and caregivers on applicable intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as client homes, daycare homes/centers, preschools, clinics, and other community settings.
• Follow the unique therapy plan established for a family/child, plan for ongoing treatment and address identified goals while documenting progress.
• Prepare progress reports as indicated.
• Maintain child records and confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA, state and federal regulations). Required records must be submitted within the established timelines.

Requirements for a Occupational Therapist:

• Must have a passion for working with children and families!
• NYS Licensed Occupational Therapist
• 1-2 years of experience working with children birth–5 is preferred but not necessary
• Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus!

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to:
• Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to ascend and descend staircases.
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly.
• The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.

Starting Rate: Evaluations $130.00 - $250.00/ hourly $60.00-$70.00
Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during theOccupational TherapistJob interview process.
