Job summary

South Carolina Health Care Association is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Rehab department. You will evaluate and treat residents and patients with physical, mental, or developmental conditions to improve daily living and work capabilities in line with federal guidelines and state practice acts.

Under a physician’s orders, you will develop care plans, assist with ADLs, and educate residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment while maintaining accurate records and adhering to

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in OT as required by state law; NCBOT certification/registration preferred.
  • One year of clinical OT experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under physician orders, screen and evaluate residents/patients and develop appropriate care plans.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including dressing, cooking, and eating.
  • Instruct residents, families and caregivers in use of adaptive equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, splints, aids for eating/dressing).
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
  • Devise tools and treatments for patient needs.
  • Complete forms and documents per company policy and state/federal regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

Evaluates and treats residents and patients with conditions that are mentally, physically,

developmentally, or emotionally disabling to improve their ability to perform tasks of daily

living and working environments in compliance with federal guidelines and state practice acts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Under a physician's orders, screens and evaluates resident/ patient and develops appropriate care plan.
  • Assists resident / patients in performing activities of daily living which may include dressing, cooking, and eating.
  • Instructs residents, families and caregivers in the use of adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs, splints, and aids for eating and dressing.
  • Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.
  • Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Certified or registered by the NCBOT.
  • Licensed in Occupational Therapy (if required by state law).
  • One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Participates in (or conducts) company-sponsored training to safeguard against improper use

and disclosure of resident's protected health information. Monitors and ensures compliance

with company policies, procedures and state and federal law.
