Job summary

Ambercare Homecare in Silver City NM seeks a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide home-based therapy, develop individualized treatment plans, and help patients regain independence. You will work with patients in their homes across Silver City and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by the AMA/ AOTA.
• Registered with the NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy).
• At least 2 years of clinical experience as an OT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT services per physician plan of care and state OT Practice Act.
• Develop treatment plans and set functional goals.
• Teach new skills and retrain daily activities.
• Fabricate splints and instruct use of adaptive equipment.
• Maintain clinical records and communicate changes to the physician.

What Youll Do

• Provides occupation therapy services to patients according to a written physicians plan of care and as defined in the state Occupational Therapy Practice Act Develops treatment program and establishes goals for improved function Communicates plan of care to referring physician and other Organization professionals as neededMay teach new skills or retrain patient in once familiar daily activities that have been lost due to illness or injury in accordance with our policyMay fabricate splints and instruct patient in the use of various types of adaptive equipment to improve functionMay train patient in the use of prosthetic andor orthotic devicesMaintains appropriate clinical records clinical notes and reports to the physician any changes in the patients condition Submits these records in accordance with our policyMaintains contactcommunication with other personnel involved in the patients care to promote coordinated efficient care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy AssociationRegistered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy AssociationAt least Two 2 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist PreferredMust have reliable transportation current drivers license and appropriate automobile insuranceComplies and maintains current CPR certification
