Job summary

TEAMability is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to children with physical, neurological, and developmental challenges in San Antonio, TX. The role involves collaboration with physicians, families, and a multidisciplinary team to maximize each child’s independence and function.

The ideal candidate holds graduation from an accredited OT program, eligibility or licensure in Texas, and at least 2 years of pediatric experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Eligible for or licensed by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.
• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and maneuver patients safely.
• Strong documentation, communication, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat pediatric patients with various physical dysfunctions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with physician approval.
• Monitor patient safety and equipment during therapy sessions.
• Document evaluations, progress notes, summaries, and re-evaluations accurately and timely.
• Communicate progress and needs with physicians, staff, patients, and families.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and students.
• Participate in team conferences and program development.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
• Educate families, staff, and the public about occupational therapy practices.

Reports to: Occupational Therapist Lead and Chief Clinic Administrator
FLSA Status: Exempt

TEAMability is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to children with physical, neurological, and developmental challenges. The therapist will work collaboratively with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams to help each child reach their highest level of independence and function.

Primary Responsibilities

Evaluation and Treatment

• Perform comprehensive evaluations using standardized tools and accepted assessment methods.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with physician approval.
• Provide occupational therapy for pediatric patients with various physical dysfunctions.
• Monitor patient safety and equipment during therapy sessions.
• Document evaluations, progress notes, summaries, and re-evaluations accurately and timely.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and families regarding progress and needs.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and students, ensuring compliance with documentation and treatment standards.
• Participate in team conferences, staff meetings, and contribute to program development.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
• Educate families, staff, and the public about occupational therapy practices.
