Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's Methodist Hospital in Sacramento seeks an Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence through comprehensive evaluations, treatment planning, and personalized care.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, document thoroughly, and manage a high patient volume while staying organized and compassionate. CA licensure within 6 months and BLS required; prior OT experience preferred.

Qualifications

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities. Every day you will assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.), develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations/re-evaluations. You will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients. To be successful in this role, you must be flexible, adaptable, exceptionally organized, and a personable, motivating team player.

Evaluations

• Evaluations: Are completed according to department protocol.
• Completed within 48 hours once evaluation has been initiated.
• All relevant areas are thoroughly completed.
• Appropriate goals are set relative to the patient's prior level of function.
• Treatment plan is relevant to patient's problems identified. Patient/family participates in treatment plan and in setting goals.
• Provides Effective and Adequate Treatment:
• Job Requirements*Required
• Occupational Therapist (OT) CA, within six (6) months.
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.

Preferred

• Completed an accredited Occupational Therapy degree program and be Board eligible and able to obtain CA OT license within 6 months or have already obtained a CA OT License.
• Previous experience as an Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapist intern.
