Job summary

Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento seeks an Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence and improve daily living activities. You will assess diverse patient groups, develop and adjust treatment plans, and conduct evaluations to support recovery.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide motivating care to a high volume of patients while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Must hold an accredited Occupational Therapy degree and be board eligible or have CA license.
• Ready to obtain OT license in California within 6 months if not yet licensed.
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assess diverse patients and develop treatment plans.
• Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations to guide care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and document thoroughly.
• Provide motivating, patient-centered care to a high volume of patients.
• Modify goals and select appropriate interventions as treatment progresses.
• Ensure patient safety and follow up as needed.

As our Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities.

Every day you will assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.), develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations/re-evaluations. You will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients.

To be successful in this role, you must be flexible, adaptable, exceptionally organized, and a personable, motivating team player.

• Implements effective and adequate treatment following department guidelines.
• Ongoing assessment of treatment effectiveness.
• Goals and treatment are modified as appropriate in relation to working toward goals.
• Selects appropriate treatment interventions.
• Utilizes specialized techniques.
• Patient safety is addressed with follow-up recommended.

Job Requirements

Required

• Completed an accredited Occupational Therapy degree program and be board eligible and able to obtain OT PT license within 6 months or have already obtained a CA OT License and Previous experience as an OccupationalTherapist or Occupational Therapist student/intern.
• Occupational Therapist: CA, within six (6) months.
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
