Job summary

Woodlawn Health in Rochester, IN is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to improve patients’ daily living activities through tailored rehab plans. You will evaluate needs, develop and implement therapy, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and document progress.

You will also work closely with families to ensure consistent support for treatment goals. The role requires Indiana OT licensure, CPR, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Indiana state license to practice Occupational Therapy is required.
• CPR certification must be current.
• Driver’s license required for travel to patient sites.
• Pediatric experience preferred, with a focus on family-centered care.
• Proficiency in Occupational Therapy methods and techniques is expected.
• Knowledge of rehabilitation principles and ability to collaborate with medical teams.
• Licensure in Indiana or eligibility is mandatory for practice.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in outpatient, inpatient, and swing bed settings.
• Maintain required paperwork for each patient.
• Communicate with physicians about goals, treatment, and progress.
• Develop and update plans of care.
• Treat patients according to OT standards and ethics.
• Review and update the Plan of Care as needed.
• Supervise support staff and students; instruct COTAs.
• Educate patients and caregivers about conditions and self-treatment.
• Finalize discharge paperwork and ensure smooth transitions.

• Excellent Communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Experience or interest in working with Pediatrics
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Indiana
• Relevant certifications or training in specialized therapy areas are an advantage

Occupational Therapist Primary Duties:

• Evaluation of patients in outpatient, inpatient, and swing bed settings.
• Maintain required paperwork for each patient.
• Communicate with physicians regarding patients’ goals, treatment, and progress.
• Developing and updating a plan of care.
• Treatment of patients.
• Must be consistent with the Occupational Therapy code of standards and code of ethics.
• Review and update Plan of Care.
• Maintain proper documentation on each patient.
• Communicate with physician, family, and caregivers regarding patients’ treatment and progress.
• Education patient and caregivers regarding condition and self-treatment.
• Finalize discharge paperwork.
• Supervision of Support Staff.
• Utilize and instruct support staff for patient care and clerical duties.
• Supervision of Students.
• Utilize and instruct Occupational Therapy students during their clinical rotations.
• Communication with COTAs.
