Responsibilities

The Acute Care Therapy Department at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center provides evaluation and treatment for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding medical setting. Our Therapists are critical members of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to achieving optimal patient outcomes. We emphasize teamwork and collaboration; our participation in interdisciplinary patient rounding occurs daily across various units, allowing therapy professionals to work autonomously.

Expectations
  1. Provides patient care, including evaluating the patient for treatment, and implementing and directing the care plan upon referral from the physician.
  2. Consults with other healthcare disciplines to coordinate therapeutic programs and discharge planning for individual patients.
  3. Instructs patients and caregivers in home program exercises and functional activities.
  4. Assists with patient program management while delivering quality patient services.

Qualifications
Minimum:
  • Internship or rotation in an appropriate clinical setting required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
  • Arizona Occupational Therapist License.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
Preferred:
  • Two years of progressive clinical experience performing patient care.
  • Masters or Doctorate degree in a relevant clinical area.
  • Experience with electronic health records.

Pay Range

$36.96 - $53.60 per hour
