Job summary

St. Luke's Health - Patients Medical Center in Pasadena, TX, is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to create and implement treatment programs based on physician referrals and patient needs.

You will evaluate functional status and design goals tailored to physical, cognitive, and psychosocial aspects while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure timely care. Responsibilities include thorough documentation, discharge planning, rounds, and supervising OT assistants.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Occupational Therapy (degree required).
• TX OT license to practice in Texas.
• BLS CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans and implements OT treatment programs per physician referral or care plan.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to meet patient and family goals and ensure timely care.
• Completes documentation including patient charts, charge entries, peer reviews, and daily schedules.
• Coordinates care with hospital activities, discharge planning, care conferences and rounds.
• Assigns and supervises OT assistants and therapy aides.
• Promotes professional customer service and active patient/family participation in education.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans and Implements occupational therapy treatment programs according to physician referral, and/or plan of care. Designs programs to meet the patient's physical, psychological, and age specific needs; Performs evaluations, tests, and measurements of functional status, neuromuscular, musculo-skeletal, cognitive/perceptual, and sensory /psychological Functions

• Works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary team, other departments and disciplines to assure patients and customer's needs are met in a timely manner; encourages the active participation of the patient and/or family in goal setting and patient/family training/education

• Completes all necessary documentation as outlined by departmental policy and documentation review. This includes, but is not limited to patient care charting, charge entry, completing peer chart and peer reviews, and documenting on daily schedule

• Coordinates care of patients with other departmental and hospital activities in a manner that fosters a positive professional image consistent with the departmental and hospital goals and mission statement. This includes, but is not limited to, discharge planning, participation in care conferences, interdisciplinary rounds, collaborative practice groups, the student program and community endeavors

• Assigns, supervises and reviews the care of patients and duties of the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, and therapy aide

• Promotes and Supports positive and professional customer service, while interacting with clients, guests and hospital personnel. Works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary team, other departments and disciplines to assure patients and customer's needs are met in a timely manner. Encourages the active participation of the patient and/or family in goal setting and patient/family training/education

Where You'll Work

St. Luke's Health - Patients Medical Center provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services to residents of Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Baytown, and Clear Lake. The facility includes 53 medical/surgical beds, eight ICU beds and three endoscopy rooms, and offers a range of primary and specialized services-wound care, general surgery, gastroenterology, occupational health, heart and vascular, women's services, diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehab services, and sleep disorders.

Pay Range

$36.51 / $60.24hourly
