Job summary

Baptist Health System in Texas seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to assess and treat patients across the lifespan, from neonatal to geriatric, within a collaborative clinical team.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, documentation, patient education, and collaboration with family and other care providers; a Texas license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy preferred.
• No prior experience required; after 3 years may be eligible for OT Level II.
• Preferred: clinical experience in variety of settings; Spanish proficiency.
• Must have current Texas State license prior to orientation; ongoing license required.
• Active Healthcare Provider BLS on hire; or BLS within 60 days of hire.

• Provides in-service to staff and clinical education for OT students.
• Utilizes supportive personnel and supervises administration of treatment plans.
• Informs supervisor of incidents and problems and initiates action.
• Maintains safe environment and addresses patient population-specific needs.

Responsible for the administration, interpretation and evaluation of tests and measurements. Plans and modifies treatment programs.Works with neonatal through geriatric patients with clinical competency, as applicable. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

• Assures appropriate equipment performance prior to each use
• Organizes schedule to reflect patient priorities, needs of other staff, and the department needs and responsibilities
• Provides in-service to staff
• Provides clinical education for OT students
• Utilizes supportive personnel and supervises administration of treatment plans
• Informs supervisor of incidents, accidents, equipment failure or unusual physician or patient problems immediately, initiating appropriate action.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master's or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy.
