Job summary

NexGen Orthopedic Health and Wellness in Paramus, NJ is seeking an Occupational Therapist to conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans. You will collaborate with therapists, physicians, massage therapists, and acupuncturists to support coordinated patient care and discharge planning.

The role requires NJ OT licensure, BLS, and strong interpersonal skills to excel in a team-based setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• Active Occupational Therapist license in NJ
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to excel in a collaborative team setting
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess patients’ functional needs and abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized, patient-centered treatment plans focused on mobility, cognition, safety, and functional independence.
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary care team to support coordinated patient care.
• Educate patients and families on functional status, safety recommendations, and equipment needs.
• Document evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in the EMR.
• Maintain current professional knowledge and best practices to provide high-quality care.
• Participate in community outreach and represent the practice professionally.
• Adhere to professional standards, policies, regulations, and infection control protocols

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess patients’ functional needs and abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized, patient-centered treatment plans focused on mobility, cognition, safety, and functional independence.
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary care team, including therapists, physicians, massage therapists, and acupuncturists, to support coordinated patient care.
• Educate patients and families on functional status, safety recommendations, therapeutic strategies, and equipment needs as appropriate.
• Accurately and promptly document evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Maintain current professional knowledge, clinical skills, and best practices to provide high-quality, evidence-based treatment.
• Participate in community outreach and marketing initiatives, including attending events and representing the practice professionally.
• Adhere to professional standards, practice policies, regulatory requirements, and infection control protocols.

Job Info:

• Work Schedule: Mon. - Thurs: 9am - 7pm
• Possible rotations of Friday and Saturday
• Hourly Rate: Min: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
