Overview
We are looking for a compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our growing team. The right candidate has a can-do attitude, a friendly demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide medical support to clients in their homes.
Responsibilities
- Provide Occupational therapy services to patients according to a written physician's plan of care. This may include, but is not limited to: assessing and evaluating therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status, and participating in the development of the total plan of care. Evaluate home environment.
- Assess muscle strength, mobility, and range of motion (ROM) with rehab potential.
- Direct Occupational therapy treatment.
- Instruct patients and families/caregivers in the use and care of therapeutic appliances.
- Determine priority needs for Occupational therapy.
- Report to physician on patient reaction to treatment or changes in condition.
- Initiate the Occupational therapy program and instruct other personnel and/or family/caregivers in related phases and goals of the program; participate in case conferences.
- Train patients in the use of prosthetic devices when applicable.
- Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for other home health services and make referrals as necessary.
- Prepare and submit clinical and progress summaries based on attainment of goals.
- Participate in discharge planning for patients.
- Provide Occupational therapy consultation to home families/caregivers when indicated.
- Provide in-service education programs for nursing organization personnel as needed.
- Participate in the peer consultation process.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants according to organization policy and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Degree from an Occupational Therapy program approved by an accredited organization.
- Licensed to practice as an Occupational Therapist within the state.
- Two years of appropriate experience as an Occupational Therapist; community/home health experience.
- Good verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
- Current CPR certification.
