Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for inpatient rehabilitation at Lakeland Hospital St Joseph and related sites. The role involves evaluating patients, designing therapy plans, educating patients and caregivers, and coordinating with staff.

Expect daytime shifts, 40 hours weekly, with a weekend rotation. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in OT (Master's preferred), state licensure in Michigan, and appropriate BLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited OT program.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• MI OT licensure required upon hire.
• OTR certification required upon hire.
• MI driver's license required upon hire.
• BLS certification (AHA) within 90 days or ARC equivalent.
• CHT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluation procedures to assess disability level, goals and plan of treatment.
• Provides treatment program and education to restore maximal function; re-evaluates as needed.
• Documents evaluation and treatment in line with department standards and reimbursements.
• Instructs and trains rehabilitation staff, nursing and students on patient needs and services.
• Participates in process improvement, patient satisfaction initiatives, program development and marketing.
• Maintains productivity according to department standards.
• Pursues ongoing education and new skills across patient populations.

Job description

Job Summary

Provides therapy to patients based on patient need and medical direction. Provides patient/caregiver education and arranges for adaptive equipment as needed

4 shifts M-F plus 1 weekend a month.
9 during weekday, 8 on weekend.

Essential Functions

• Performs evaluation procedures to assess the level of disability with regard to scope of practice, goals and a plan of treatment, and to make appropriate recommendations.
• Provides a treatment program and education to restore and return maximal function to the patient. Assesses effectiveness of treatment and modifies goals / treatment methods, as needed to meet changing needs.
• Documents evaluation and treatment of each patient in compliance with department standards, medical-legal and reimbursement procedures.
• Instructs and trains other rehabilitation staff, nursing, other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and rehabilitation services.
• Participates in ongoing process improvement, patient satisfaction initiatives/improvement, program development and marketing activities.
• Demonstrates productivity as indicated by department standard.
• Improves skill areas as demonstrated by applying continuing education in-services, participating in competencies in applicable areas, and developing new concepts of patient care and additional skills with various population groups.

• LIC-Occupational Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• CRT-Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR) - NB-COT National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Upon Hire required
• LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Home Care Business Lines Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
• CRT-Hand Therapist, Certified (CHT) - HTCC Hand Therapy Certification Commission Hand Therapy Program Upon Hire preferred
