The International Academy of Hope (iHOPE) is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide school-based OT services in New York. You will implement therapeutic plans aligned with IEP goals, assess students, and coordinate with families and school staff.

Responsibilities include developing safe interventions, fabricating adaptive equipment, and assisting with AT/DME needs. NYS license and strong organization are required.

Qualifikationen

• Provides occupational therapy-based services to assigned caseload consistent with students’ therapy goals and IEPs.
• Develops and implements safe and appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Provides assessment, recommendations, and intervention in school-based areas of occupation and documents/upgrades annual therapy goals.
• Evaluates, documents and monitors service delivery and student progress per policies.
• Communicates with parents, school staff, and medical professionals regarding health, equipment use, participation, and other factors as needed.
• Fabricates, maintains and modifies adaptive equipment and trains staff on interventions.
• Assists with AT and/or DME needs, including coordination with providers and vendors.
• Attends supervision and department meetings; maintains therapy spaces.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must hold a valid NYSED OT license and registration.
• Requires strong organization and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint).

The iHOPE school community strives to provide comprehensive services for our students, who present with a variety of diagnoses including Traumatic Brain Injury, Acquired Brain Injury, and other brain-based disorders. Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Provides occupational therapy-based services to assigned caseload consistent with students’ documented therapy goals, including those defined in areas of instructional and therapeutic focus and/or Individualized Education Program (IEP).
• Develops and implements safe and appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Provides assessment, mandate recommendations, and intervention in related school-based areas of occupation (participation in academics, play/leisure, vocational, and self-care skills) and appropriately documents or updates annual therapy goals for students, as needed.
• Evaluates, documents and monitors provision of service and student progress in a timely manner in line with policies of organization, governing bodies and in language comprehensible to caregivers.
• Regularly communicates and collaborates with parents, school staff across all disciplines and medical professionals regarding health, equipment use, participation in activities, positioning, feeding and other relevant factors, as needed.
• Fabricates, maintains, modifies and monitors use of adaptive equipment and orthotics and trains school staff regarding interventions involving AT or other equipment.
• Assists with assessments related to assistive technology (AT) and/or durable medical equipment (DME) needs, including participation in clinics, documenting medical necessity, obtaining measurements, working with providers, facilitating orders, coordinating with vendors for delivery, fittings, etc. as needed.
• Attends and participates in scheduled supervision, department meetings and activities.
• Responsible for maintaining office and therapy room organization.
• Performs all other duties, as assigned.
• Valid license and current registration as an Occupational Therapist issued by the NYS Department of Education (NYSED); and
• Must be well organized with superior attention to detail and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Work with a great degree of self-direction and focus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, specifically Word and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualification Requirements (desired requirements beyond MQRs above)

• Two (2) years of relevant experience in occupational therapy working with school-aged children with significant disabilities.
