Job summary

RCM Healthcare Services is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support students in two elementary schools in Rensselaer County, NY. The contract role combines direct treatment with consultation, four days per week, with a 32.5-hour schedule and collaboration with a district of eight OT colleagues.

You will deliver in-person OT services, participate in IEP meetings, and develop individualized plans while maintaining records and adapting interventions as needed.

Qualifications

Occupational Therapist

Compensation Range: $54/hour - $62/hour

Location: Troy, NY & Castleton, NY (Rensselaer County)

Position Summary

An Occupational Therapist is needed to support students at two elementary schools in Rensselaer County, NY as a dedicated school-based occupational therapy professional. This contract position involves working in person and collaborating closely with other members of the elementary school staff and Related Services team to assess and address student needs. The position would be four days per week with the schedule flexible to the preference of the OT. The position would be a combination of direct treatment and consultation. There are seven other OT's in district, so there is the great advantage of collaboration with other in-district OT's as needed. This is a top-rated school district with great equipment and resources. Responsibilities

Schedule / Shift:

• Shift details: 8:30am - 3:30pm, 4 days per week


• Hours per week: 32.5hours per week


• Contract length: October 19, 2026 to June25, 2027

Key Duties

• Deliver in-person OT services, focusing on supporting and empowering students to achieve educational and developmental goals.


• Maintain accurate records on all children assigned to the program.

Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

• Must hold an active New YorkOccupationalTherapist license

Experience:

• Previous experience in school settings or working with children is preferred.

Skills:

• Strong collaborative skills to partner with multidisciplinary diagnostic and educational teams.


• Effective communication abilities for working with students, educators, and families.


• Flexibility and a proactive attitude to adapt to a growing caseload as new students join the program.


• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.


• Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs daily


• Ability to interact with staff and the public is required.


• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.


• Ability to work as a team member at all times


• Ability to perform all duties with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
