Responsibilities

• Address fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-care, handwriting, and school participation skills.
• Train students and staff in adaptive equipment and assistive technology when appropriate.
• Monitor progress and adjust intervention plans as needed.
• Maintain documentation and Medicaid billing requirements.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers.
• Participate in IEP and MDT meetings.
• Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide school-based services in Naples, Florida (34120) for the 2026–2027 school year. This flexible part-time opportunity is ideal for an Occupational Therapist looking to supplement their current schedule while making a meaningful impact on students' functional independence and academic success. The OT will collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support students with fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, and functional skill development in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to determine students' functional needs.
• Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans aligned with IEP goals.
• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in individual and small-group settings.
• Address fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-care, handwriting, and functional school participation skills.
• Recommend and train students and staff in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology when appropriate.
• Monitor student progress and adjust intervention plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation, treatment notes, progress reports, and any required Medicaid billing.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, speech-language pathologists, school psychologists, physical therapists, and families.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program preferred.
• Active Florida Occupational Therapy license required.
• NBCOT certification preferred.
• Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of child development, sensory integration, fine motor development, and school-based occupational therapy practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
