Job summary

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our school-based team in Minooka, IL. This full-time, in-person position serves a caseload of 30 students with a focus on developing functional, motor, and sensory skills for participation in classroom activities.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Occupational Therapy and an active IL OT license (or eligibility). Prior school experience and strong IEP knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Active IL Occupational Therapist license (or eligibility to obtain).
• Experience working in a school setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of IEP processes and goal development.
• Ability to conduct evaluations, interpret assessment results, and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Excellent communication, documentation, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and re-evaluations to identify students' functional and educational needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals.
• Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students.
• Support students in developing fine motor, visual-motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional skills necessary for participation in school activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers to support student success.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development, accommodations, and progress monitoring.
• Recommend and support the use of adaptive equipment, classroom modifications, and intervention strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance records in accordance with district and state requirements.
