Job summary

Family Service Madison is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist for the Bridges for Families Birth to 3 Program in Madison. The clinician will actively participate in relationship-based early intervention using the evidence-based Primary Coach Approach to Teaming to enhance development in infants and toddlers with delays.

Job description

A full-time Occupational Therapist position is available at Family Service Madison's Bridges for Families Birth to 3 Program.The Early Intervention Occupational Therapist actively participates in relationship-based early intervention through the use of evidence-based Primary Coach Approach to Teaming to enhance the development of infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities. They work to enhance the capacity of families and other care providers to provide ongoing learning opportunities for their children throughout daily activities and routines.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate from an Accredited Occupational Therapy Program
  • Intervention experience with infants and toddlers
KNOWLEDGE:
  • Broad knowledge of general development in infants and toddlers including children with and without developmental delays with expertise in the area of gross motor development.
  • Knowledge of intervention in natural environments.
  • An understanding of the importance of providing a range of services for young children with disabilities and their families.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Empathy for others and the ability to respect and maintain professional/personal boundaries.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Flexibility in professional style.
  • The ability to initiate and organize own work and time.
  • The ability to work with families in their home environment with creativity and innovation.
  • The ability to express differing opinions to others regardless of their position or status in a mature and professional manner.
  • Evaluation, assessment and report writing skills
  • Computer literacy (familiar with Microsoft outlook, word, and excel)
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, access to a vehicle or ability to move about the Madison area as required to fulfill position responsibilities
  • Physical ability to work where the child and care providers are (e.g. on the floor, on play equipment at the park etc...)

Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.

Eligible candidates must pass a Wisconsin caregiver background check and criminal history screening.

Hours:

Full-time, 40 hours per week

Wage:

Based on experience. Benefit package available. Sick time, vacation time, and paid holidays.
