Job summary

Sunny Days of California, Inc. seeks an Occupational Therapist to deliver early intervention services to infants and toddlers in home and community settings. You will use a Parent Coaching Model, align with IFSP goals, and support families directly. The role offers flexible schedules, mileage reimbursement, and a tech stipend.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide occupational therapy via the Parent Coaching Model.
• Follow each child’s IFSP and help families develop developmental goals.
• Use family-centered coaching to build caregiver confidence and progress generalization.
• Provide services in natural environments; home, daycare, and community settings; virtual options available.
• Perform re-assessments and write progress reports bi-annually.
• Maintain HIPAA/state compliance and protect confidentiality.

Sunny Days of California, Inc. specializes in the area of early intervention, serving children with developmental needs from birth to three years of age. Sunny Days is a nationwide agency and has programs throughout the state of California. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide occupational therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings; virtual services also currently available
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements:

• California Occupational Therapy license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
