Job summary

Candor is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to empower students within educational settings. You will evaluate needs, develop evidence-based interventions, and coordinate with the IEP team to enhance student participation and independence.

You will deliver therapy or supervise COTAs, monitor progress, and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings. A Master’s in OT and active Texas licensure are required, CPR certification, and bilingual skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Active Occupational Therapist license issued by the Texas Advisory Board of Occupational Therapy (TABOT).
• CPR certification.
• Bilingual skills preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate needs: Perform Occupational Therapy assessments to determine students' needs and eligibility for specialized services.
• Communicate evaluation findings to parents, educators, and other stakeholders with clear, actionable recommendations.
• Develop interventions: Collaborate with the IEP team to create evidence-based interventions that promote student participation, access to education, and skill development.
• Provide therapy: Deliver direct therapy services or supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in implementing IEP goals.
• Monitor progress: Maintain accurate records of student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Support team: Actively participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions to advocate for students.
