Job summary

NHC HomeCare Knoxville is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our home-based rehabilitation team. The OT will supervise and participate in implementing therapeutic techniques for patients with physical disabilities, injuries, or diseases.

You will deliver physician-ordered OT services, supervise assistants, and maintain comprehensive patient records. This role emphasizes coordinated care, goal setting, and adherence to regulatory requirements to support patient independence at home.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OT program as certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
• Licensed/registered in the state where practicing.
• Active membership in state and national OT associations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise Occupational Therapy services.
• Provide OT services as ordered by the referring physician and delegate appropriate portions of the treatment program to the licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Instruct OT staff in delegated functions including precautions, special problems, contraindications, anticipated progress goals and re-evaluation plans.
• Evaluate, plan and supervise treatments and programs including short-term and long-term goals with physician approval and periodic re-evaluations.
• Maintain patient care records as designated by the HomeCare agency, ensuring third party reimbursement qualifications and compliance with state/federal requirements.
