Job summary

A specialized pediatric rehabilitation provider in Iowa City seeks a full-time Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team. ChildServe’s talented, multi-disciplinary team of therapists specializes in pediatric rehab and work together to create plans specific to each child’s need. In the role of ourOccupational Therapist (Full-Time), you will use play, therapeutic activities, and special techniques to develop motor sensory, visual, attention and decision-making skills so children can be successful in their world. This position is at our Iowa City location.

We are now offering a $1,500 Sign-on Bonus!

Schedule

Full time Monday-Friday 40 hours per week.

What You’ll Do

• Complete all documentation according to ChildServe, AOTA, and third-party regulatory standards.
• Develop individualized plan of care as appropriate to meet the needs of the child/caregiver.
• Adapt communication styles to meet the needs of those involved in a child’s care.
• Confer with the interdisciplinary team, including the physician with developing, implementing, and revising the therapy plan of care based on initial and ongoing assessments.
• Review medical, educational, social, and financial information on each client prior to assessment or initiation of treatment.
• Participate in teaching and training other ChildServe staff including orientation, occupational therapy topics, and mentoring for students/interns.
• Provide health information to third party payers as necessary to advocate and secure medically necessary services for client.
• Provide accurate and timely billing and scheduling information to accounting, operations staff and Team Lead.
• Participate in internal quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities.
• Participate in community functions, marketing, and consultative services as needed.
• Assist in the development of new clinical programs as assigned.

What You'll Need

• A degree from an AOTA approved occupational therapy program.
• Experience with pediatrics preferred.
• Experience with autism and motor impairment preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
