Job summary

Jobtailor in Hartford, CT seeks a pediatric occupational therapist to conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized intervention plans. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to maximize resources in hospital and community settings.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy with CT licensure, BLS/CPR, and strong communication, organization, and time-management skills. A Master’s degree and bilingual abilities are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in pediatric therapy strongly preferred.
  • Connecticut licensure for Occupational Therapy required.
  • Current BLS/CPR for adult, child & infant within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and kinesiology; OT theory and practice.
  • Beginning to intermediate skill in Microsoft Word.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts an effective clinical assessment for assigned routine to complex patients, utilizing multiple sources/methods for data collection.
  • Develops intervention/treatment plans in concert with the interdisciplinary plan of care, including goals and a variety of direct and consultative intervention approaches.
  • Partners with the child, family and health care team members to define and implement occupational therapy interventions that support needs relative to prevention of delays, promotion of independence, remediation for loss of function and compensation for deficits.
  • Provides education to patient and families, monitors response to treatment plan and revises accordingly.
  • Completes required clinical documentation in an organized and timely manner, in accordance with department standards.

  • Provides education to patient and families, monitors response to treatment plan and revises accordingly.
  • Completes required clinical documentation in an organized and timely manner, in accordance with all department standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an approved course of study in Occupational Therapy.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in pediatric therapy strongly preferred.
  • State of Connecticut Department of Public Health licensure in Occupational Therapy required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR in adult, child & infant within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of Anatomy, physiology and kinesiology; Occupational therapy theory, practice; indications and contraindications of various physical agent modalities and occupational therapy techniques.
  • Beginning to intermediate skill in Microsoft Word.
  • Excellent Time Management, Organizational and Communication Skills.
  • Bilingual preferred.
