Job summary

Institute for Hand & Arm Surgery is seeking an Occupational/Hand Therapist to join our team on a per diem basis. You will provide direct rehabilitation to patients with hand and upper-extremity conditions and collaborate with hand surgeons. You may attend hand journal club meetings with surgeons, residents, and other therapists.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, communicates well, and excels in organization and attention to detail, while staying positive with patients over time.

Qualifications

• Must hold the required state license for occupational therapy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• The ability to stay positive and compassionate over a long period of time with patients.

Responsibilities

• Meet with patients from many different backgrounds and discuss their health concerns and therapy needs.
• Conduct evaluations to determine a starting point for each patient.
• Create a therapy plan specific to each patient that will help them meet their goals.
• Work closely with other members of each patient’s care team to provide adequate follow-up care.
• Maintain excellent records of patient therapy and progress.

Job Summary

We are seeking an Occupational/Hand Therapist to join our team on a Per Diem basis. You will be providing direct rehabilitative treatment to patient with hand and upper extremity conditions. You will also work closely with hand surgeons and have the opportunity to attend hand journal club meetings with other hand surgeons, surgeons in-training and other occupational/hand therapists. The ideal candidate has a compassionate style of care, has strong communication and interpersonal skills, and is comfortable with orthosis fabrication.
