Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for helping patients improve their ability to perform daily activities and enhance their quality of life through therapeutic interventions. This role involves working with individuals of all ages, particularly focusing on geriatrics and those with disabilities or autism, in various settings including skilled nursing facilities.
Pay: $55.00 per hour, $5 shift differential on weekends
Duties:
Assess patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans to address their specific goals.
Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities.
Provide assistance in daily living activities to promote independence and enhance quality of life.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive case management and patient care.
Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and techniques to support recovery.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
Stay updated on best practices in occupational health and therapy techniques.
Strong ability to provide care with empathy and understanding.
Proficiency in assisting patients with various needs, especially those related to disabilities and autism.
Knowledge of case management principles to effectively coordinate patient care.
Familiarity with speech therapy techniques as they relate to occupational therapy.
Solid understanding of anatomy and its application in rehabilitation practices.
Experience working with geriatric populations in a therapeutic setting.
Ability to work effectively within a skilled nursing facility environment.

Physical Therapy - Physical Therapists are specialized in the improvement of mobility and balance, including the ability to transfer between bed and chair, and bath and toilet.
Occupational Therapy - Occupational Therapists are focused on the 'Activities of Daily Living' most of us take for granted until we can no longer perform them. Such activities include: getting dressed, eating, bathing and grooming.
Speech Therapy - Speech Therapists treat communication problems, swallowing dysfunction, problem solving, and cognitive skill re-building.
Medical Social Worker - Social Workers help solve the social needs of the patient and family during a course of treatment and after discharge.
Rehabilitation Nursing - Rehabilitation Nurses provide 24/7 care including medication management, pain management, and daily assessment of physical condition.
