Prime Healthcare seeks an Occupational Therapist at Dallas Medical Center in Farmers Branch, TX. Per Diem role with 8:00am–4:00pm shifts, Days, in the Therapy department. The OT will evaluate and treat patients to restore independence in ADLs within an interdisciplinary team.

The candidate holds OT licensure, BCLS, and NBCOT is preferred. Responsibilities include ADL training, adaptive equipment recommendations, and discharge planning support.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current state Occupational Therapy certification/license.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate
• National Board for Certification Occupational Therapy certification, AOTA and OTAC preferred.

• Recommend Adaptive Equipment: introduce tools to compensate for functional limitations.
• Environmental Modifications: suggest changes to home or hospital setup for safety and accessibility.
• Educate Patients and Families: train caregivers on proper support and ongoing care at home or rehab facility.

We are seeking anOccupational Therapist,sometimes referred to as aRegistered Occupational Therapist (OTR)orOccupational Therapist, Registered/Licensed (OTR/L).TheOccupational Therapist(OT) willevaluate and treat patients with physical, cognitive, or psychosocial impairments to restore their ability to perform essential activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, and eating. Utilizing customized interventions, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications, they facilitiatepatient independence, support functional recovery, and contribute to discharge planning within the interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities

• Assess Functional Abilities:use standardized assessments, patient interviews, and real-world task simulations todeterminethe patient's current level of independence and areas of need
• Develop Treatment Plans:create personalized treatment plans tailored to the patient’s condition, goals, and discharge needs
• Train in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):guide patients in regaining the ability to perform basic ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, and transferring (e.g., from bed to chair)
• Recommend Adaptive Equipment:introduce and train patients to use tools that compensate for functional limitations (ie. grabbers,reachers, sock aids, dressing sticks,etc.)
• Environmental Modifications:Suggest changes to the home or hospital room setup to improve safety and accessibility
• Educate Patients and Families:train family members or caregivers on how toassistproperly without increasing the patient’s dependency, and provide guidance for ongoing care at home or in a rehab facility
