Job summary

Tree of Knowledge Learning Academy is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team. You will assess motor and sensory skills, plan individualized therapies, and deliver sessions to children in diverse settings.

You will collaborate with families and other professionals to support goals and advocate for children’s needs, while maintaining thorough documentation of progress and plans.

Qualifications

• Evaluations to determine strengths/weaknesses in motor, sensory, and daily living skills.
• Develop individualized therapy plans addressing specific needs and goals.
• Deliver one-on-one or small group therapy sessions.
• Maintain accurate records of assessments, plans, and progress.
• Collaborate with families and other professionals for coordinated care.
• Advocate for children’s needs and rights.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assessment:

  • Conducting comprehensive evaluations to determine a child's strengths and weaknesses in areas like fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills.
  • Reviewing medical history and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.

• Treatment Planning:

  • Developing individualized therapy plans that address specific needs and goals.
  • Creating activities and exercises to promote skill development and independence.

• Therapy Delivery:

  • Providing one-on-one or small group therapy sessions.
  • Implementing evidence-based interventions to improve functional abilities.

• Documentation:

  • Maintaining accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.

• Collaboration:

  • Working closely with families to educate them about their child's needs and to provide strategies for home practice.
  • Collaborating with other professionals, such as physical therapists, speech therapists, and educators, to ensure a coordinated approach to care.

• Advocacy:

  • Advocate for children's needs and rights.

• Monitoring and Adjustment:

  • Monitoring a child's progress throughout therapy to ensure they are meeting their goals and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
