Who You Are

You are a compassionate and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist who provides Occupational Therapy mentorship, servicing students with autism, developmental delays, and other learning disabilities while working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high quality treatment, documentation, and compliance in a school -based environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Screening - Complete screening requests to determine each students need for an evaluation
  • Evaluation - Conduct standardized assessments to determine eligibility due to Occupational Therapy deficits, such as fine motor, visual motor, visual perceptual, self-care, oculomotor, and sensory processing needs
  • Treatment - Write evidence based Occupational Therapy plans for students who have Occupational Therapy related needs, incorporating various treatment strategies and accommodations
  • Documentation - Complete documentation in accordance with deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Communication - Maintain communication with student’s families and/or caregivers regarding progress and needs
  • Collaboration - Work with multidisciplinary team members to determine the most appropriate treatment plan based on each student’s needs and improve service delivery and treatment
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
  • One year of progressive experience as an Occupational Therapist
  • State Board of Occupational Therapy License
  • Hold National Board Certification for Occupational Therapy if eligible
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental delays (Preferred)
  • Experience working in a school setting (Preferred)

Clearances & Training Required

  • Act 33 PA Child Abuse History Clearance
  • Act 34 PA State Criminal History Clearance
  • Act 114 FBI Clearance issued by the Dept of Education
  • Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
  • Act 168 from Previous Employers where you came into contact with children
  • State License of Practice and/or Certification
  • CPR/First Aid
  • TB/Physical
