This Occupational Therapist opening is based in Atlantis, FL, at a 558-bed acute care facility serving Palm Beach County. The hospital is a Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center, an American College of Cardiology Chest Pain Center, and an American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer accredited Comprehensive Community Cancer Program, with additional specialties spanning cardiovascular care, neurosciences, robotic surgery, orthopedics, spine, bariatrics, behavioral health, and obstetrics.
The Occupational Therapist manages the complete occupational therapy care process for an assigned patient caseload, working in close coordination with physicians and the broader patient care team. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting evaluations and treatment interventions within the scope of practice, assessing and evaluating therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status, and contributing to the development of individualized total plans of care. The OT delivers purposeful, skilled interventions to produce condition and functional changes consistent with the physician's plan of care, observing and reporting patient reactions and progress along the way. The role also involves communicating relevant payor requirements to the physician, treatment team, and patients and their families in a timely manner, as well as prioritizing caseload, identifying daily staffing needs, and coordinating patient assignments and handoffs.
