Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks an Occupational Therapist to evaluate patients, create and implement individualized care plans, and deliver evidence-based rehabilitation services. The role may include off-site services within the department’s scope.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, monitor progress, document outcomes, and mentor staff while aligning with Mission Health’s commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy (required)
• Current North Carolina license to practice Occupational Therapy (required)
• New graduate eligible (required experience: none)
• Clinical affiliations with acute care procedures helpful (preferred)

Job Summary and Qualifications

Role Summary: Evaluates patients, develops care plan to treat patients, uses procedures and techniques to change condition/function consistent with the rehabilitation diagnosis and prognosis, supervises and coordinates therapeutic care and communicates evaluation results to patients, families and appropriate staff. Teaches and mentors other staff and participates in the management of resources for patient care and organizational improvement. May provide services off-site within the scope of the job description as needed by the department.

• Evaluatingeach patient’s functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
• Deliveringskilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care.
• Monitoringpatient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough,timelydocumentation that reflects quality outcomes.
• Educatingpatients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
• Collaboratingwith interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
• Leadingby example—providing guidance to therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence.

What qualifications you will need:

• Required Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy
• Preferred Education:None
• Required License:Current North Carolina license to practice Occupational Therapy

• Required Experience:None required – new graduate eligible
• Preferred Experience: Clinical affiliations having a wide variety of acute care procedures, especially orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary and care of burns/open wounds are helpful.
