Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Director-Special Education, develop, implement, and provide individual and group therapy to enhance fine motor, sensory motor and other skills and development among identified students with disabilities; evaluate and develop occupational therapy treatment plans in response to student needs and disabilities; provide consultation and training to teachers, staff, parents, and others concerning the development of student motor skills and related programs.

Unit: CSEA

Classification Hours/Work Year: 8 hrs. day / 10 Months (180 Days – Student Attendance Days)

CSEA Hourly Range 156: Step A $59.06, Step B $62.05, Step C $65.19, Step D $68.49, Step E $71.95, Step F $75.60

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Any combination equivalent to: bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy or related field and one year experience working with students with various disabilities in a rehabilitative setting. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid Occupational Therapist Certification issued by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board. Valid State Occupational Therapist license. Valid California driver’s license.

SELECTION & EXAMINATION: The selection process will consist of competitive application screening for completeness, qualifications, and experience. Application evaluation (weighted 10%) and an oral interview exam (weighted 90%) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on each portion to be placed on the eligibility list. Final interviews for specific vacancies will be scheduled from the approved eligibility list.
