As an Occupational Safety and Health Specialist supporting the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA), you will be at the forefront of building and sustaining a secure and health-conscious environment for thousands of federal employees. This is more than a compliance role—it's an opportunity to lead innovative safety initiatives, shape national policy, and impact public service operations at the highest level.

Location: Washington, DC or Columbia, SC

Clearance Level: Public Trust (Tier 4)

Position is contingent upon award of the contract from the government.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct facility inspections and hazard assessments across EOUSA and USAO locations to ensure compliance with OSHA and federal standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain agency-wide safety and health programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, manage injury and illness case records, and maintain official OSHA logs and documentation.
  • Draft safety policies, response plans, and survey reports with detailed evaluations and recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide expert consultation and response to approximately 1,800 annual safety-related inquiries.
  • Serve as the Office of Record Keeping for all work-related injuries and illnesses across EOUSA and USAOs.
  • Lead and coordinate safety conferences, training classes, and presentations at DOJ facilities nationwide.
  • Support special projects and initiatives involving the safety and health of Department personnel and facilities.
  • Participate in construction and renovation project reviews to ensure the integration of safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant occupational safety and health experience, OR
    • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and U.S. Government safety regulations.
    • Proficiency in conducting safety surveys, facility inspections, and job hazard analyses.
    • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and corrective action plans.
  • Communication & Leadership:
    • Experience in delivering safety training and presentations to varied audiences.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting policies, reports, and procedural documents.
    • Ability to coordinate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
