Job Summary
Provides administrative and clinical support within an assigned clinic. Maintains patient records, coordinates services, and acts as a point of contact for medical staff, patients, and external contacts. Performs clerical duties such as answering phones, mailing, paperwork, and supply management. Greets and directs patients, relays information, and facilitates communication among Occupational Medicine, Employee Health, and other healthcare providers. Updates and maintains patient health information, assembles and retrieves records, and manages admission/discharge paperwork. Files test and lab reports, schedules tests, treatments, and consultations. Performs routine testing, sampling, and technical services to support Occupational Medicine and Employee Health.
Requires self-direction, accountability, adaptability, mental alertness, confidentiality, and the ability to operate sensitive equipment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new programs. Willingness to learn hearing, vision, and drug testing procedures. Good understanding of occupational and employee health practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows applications. Effective communication skills and a positive attitude towards the public.
Qualifications
An Associate's degree or three years of equivalent work experience is preferred. Relevant certifications such as UAP, MA, CMA, Medical Examiners, DATIA, CAOHC, or CNA are preferred and must be obtained within six months if applicable. A driver's license may be required depending on the department.
