Job summary

CORE Occupational Medicine in Baton Rouge is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our occupational health team. The role includes vitals, basic history, urine dipstick tests, venipuncture, EKGs, audiometric screening, injections under physician supervision, and DOT-compliant specimen collection.

You will work Monday–Friday 7:30am–4:30pm with an after-hours on-call rotation. Strong interpersonal skills and medical knowledge are essential; CPR/BLS certification and MA license are

Qualifications

• Current Medical Assistant Certificates with state license (preferred).
• Current CPR/BLS Certification.
• Basic Orientation Plus from Alliance Safety Council (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Adheres to all CORE, LLC policies and procedures.
• Performs Respirator Fit testing.
• Performs Pulmonary Function Test.
• Obtains basic history, and medical information, and take vital signs.
• Administers intramuscular injections under supervision of physician.
• Performs collection of vital signs, tests visual acuity and color testing.
• Performs urine specimen collection following DOT regulations.
• Performs safe venipuncture.
• Performs urine dipstick testing.
• Performs 12 lead EKGs.
• Performs audiometric screening.
