Job summary

George's Inc. in Edinburg, VA is seeking an Occupational Maintenance Technician - Level 2 to repair and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment, and perform preventative maintenance across the facility.

You will work with hand and powered tools, welding/cutting tools, lifts, compressors and other processing equipment, following safety standards and completing maintenance paperwork. A valid driver’s license and ability to read technical manuals and schematics are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years in machine/building maintenance or related fields.
• Basic welding experience.
• Able to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Have or obtain tools needed to perform tasks and proficiency with common tools.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance in assigned area.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment in the facility.
• Perform repairs and equipment installation/removal efficiently.
• Maintain good housekeeping at workstations and areas.
• Respond to plant emergencies including Haz-Mat incidents, equipment malfunctions, fires, severe weather as directed.
• Lock out / tag out certification and adherence to procedures.
• Complete daily maintenance paperwork for work orders and checklists; participate in special projects as assigned.

The Occupational Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for performing preventative maintenance tasks on all equipment in the assigned area.
