Job description

SUMMARY: The Occupational Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment used in the facility. The Technician will also perform preventative maintenance tasks on all equipment in the assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance in the assigned area.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment used in the facility.
• Perform repairs and equipment installation/removal efficiently.
• Maintain good housekeeping at workstations and work areas.
• Respond to plant emergencies including Haz-Mat incidents, equipment malfunction, fires, severe weather, etc. as directed by supervision.
• Hold Lock-out / Tag-out certification.
• Complete daily maintenance paperwork for assigned work orders/requests and checklists.
• Assist with special projects/duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor or manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2+ years of experience in machine maintenance, building maintenance, preventative maintenance, carpentry, electrical, heating and cooling systems, plumbing, and/or electrical.
• Basic welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Have or obtain tools needed to perform the above tasks.
• Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Valid driver’s license.
