Job Summary

The Worker’s Compensation Specialist independently manages coding for work-related injuries and illnesses, verifies insurance, and processes claims and authorizations, ensuring compliance with coding principles and regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Use Epic EMR system for documentation and coding.
  • Complete coding for all OHS/Urgent Care visits and submit claims accordingly.
  • Enter claim data into Systoc, including claim number, injury details, and authorizations.
  • Consult with providers on coding questions and perform chart analysis.
  • Generate reports and update patient information.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, and patient education.
Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of billing/coding experience in Workers’ Compensation or Occupational Health.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Systoc preferred.
