Scheduled Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Schedule and register all patients via the electronic medical record (EMR) system promptly, obtaining demographic and financial information.
  2. Verify patient's employer or company and enter appropriate billing indicators or self-pay status.
  3. Initiate authorizations from companies as needed.
  4. Greet patients, verify identity, complete check-in, and collect fees for self-pay patients.
  5. Fax Chain of Custodies (COCs) and clearances to employers and third-party payors promptly.
  6. Assist with collecting company information for new clients.
  7. Assist with Drug and Breath Alcohol testing, following the Chain of Custody process.
  8. Maintain and order inventory, including clinic and office supplies.
  9. Identify opportunities for workflow improvements, especially regarding department denials.
  10. Escalate issues to management as they arise.
  11. Perform other duties as required or directed.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • High School diploma
  • Urine Drug Screen Collection Certification
  • Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) Certification (must be obtained within 6 months if not available at hire; failure to obtain will result in termination or reapplication)
Preferred:
  • Associate Degree in business or healthcare-related field
Experience and Skills:
Required:
  • Proficient data-entry skills with attention to detail
  • Computer skills including Windows navigation
  • Excellent customer service skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, team-oriented environment
  • English language skills (speaking, reading, writing)
Preferred:
  • At least 1 year of data entry and/or customer service experience
  • Experience in hospital admissions, insurance, billing, scheduling, or telephone customer service
  • Previous insurance verification experience
  • Bilingual skills (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
