Job summary

Honda Development & Manufacturing of America in Lincoln, AL, is seeking a hands-on Occupational Health & Safety Specialist to apply health and safety principles, improve ergonomics, and foster a zero-injury culture on the shop floor.

You will conduct hazard analyses, lead safety programs, and ensure OSHA compliance while collaborating with plant leaders to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Ergonomics, or related discipline.
• 0–4 years of EHS experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards, ergonomics, and incident investigation methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to engage production associates and leadership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive job hazard analyses, machine risk assessments, and ergonomic evaluations.
• Cycle PDCA problem-solving to reduce workplace injuries, eliminate hazards, and enhance work cell safety.
• Partner with manufacturing department leaders and shop floor safety advocates to drive compliance.
• Interpret and enforce OSHA regulations, company safety manuals, and industrial hygiene protocols.
• Deliver safety presentations, track safety incident trends, and lead safety committee reviews.
