Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Services Corp. seeks an experienced registered nurse to support Employee Health programs. The role includes cross-training, nursing assessments for work injuries/illnesses, and medical surveillance to promote prompt return to work.

The ideal candidate will hold Connecticut RN license, BLS, and have 3–5 years of nursing experience, including occupational health exposure. The position offers full-time hours and the opportunity to contribute to high quality patient and company

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in occupational or employee health.
• Current Connecticut RN license; BLS certification required.
• Computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Cross-train and work in employee health as scheduled.
• Perform individualized nursing assessments of work injuries/illnesses and medical surveillance.
• Communicate significant assessment data to staff.
• Seek assistance when care needs exceed own scope.
• Recognize signs of imminent danger or health status changes.
• Identify problems and participate in problem solving.
• Collaborate to establish high-quality protocols and guidelines.
• Demonstrate ability to function independently.
• Commit to collaborative practice with clinicians, staff and carriers.
• Demonstrate competency in spirometry, audiometry, EKG, urine drug screening, breath alcohol testing, and workers' compensation case management.
• Meet performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and staff and self development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Graduate Of An Approved School Of Nursing, BSN Preferred

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3-5 Year Nursing Experience With 1 year Recent Experience In An Occupational Or Employee Health Setting

LICENSURE

Current State Of Connecticut Registered Nursing License. BLS Required.
