Position Summary:
As the Occupational Health Nurse, you will play a crucial role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment for client employees. You will be responsible for conducting health examinations, administering vaccinations, managing worker's compensation cases, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Your expertise will contribute to the development and implementation of health-related policies and procedures, as well as employee training on safety measures.

- Assess the health needs of new employees through history, observation, physical examination, and diagnostic/screening data analysis.
- Perform various employee tests, including drug testing, cardiac stress assessments, TB screenings, Audiograms, PFT, Vision Screenings, Urine Drug Screens, hair collection, and Breath Alcohol Testing.
- Administer vaccinations to employees as required.
- Manage worker's compensation cases, coordinating with healthcare providers to ensure appropriate treatment.
- Evaluate and treat injuries and illnesses within the scope of nursing practice.
- Develop and enhance health and safety policies to comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, DOT, and CDC).
- Conduct employee training on health and safety topics.
- Collaborate with Industry HR and Safety departments to address wellness programs, Lunch and Learns, and Health Fairs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, including OSHA records, for the location.
- Work closely with the clients’ general management to proactively provide a safe working environment.
- Coordinate health programs including first aid, CPR, and wellness training.
- Facilitate safety programs, such as hearing conservation, bloodborne pathogens, and medical surveillance.
- Provide initial medical care for all work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Manage the site's Return to Work program, including communication with employees and management regarding work restrictions and physical limitations/abilities.
- Facilitate and oversee the ongoing process of the Post Offer Pre-Employment screens and eye & hearing exams for new hires and employees moving into upgraded positions.
- Support the onsite Employee Assistance Program (EAP) program where required.
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice.
- Occupational Health Nurse Certification from ABOHN preferred but not required
- Current BLS and CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
Education, Skills, And Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred.
- 2+ years of nursing experience in occupational health preferred.
- Familiarity with Workers’ Compensation
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and triage skills, with the ability to determine appropriate levels of care for occupational injuries.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and workflow management skills.
- Proficient with computer skills and knowledge of EHRs
