Job summary

Kenworth Truck Company in Renton, WA, is seeking an Occupational Health Nursing Supervisor to lead the on-site first-aid clinic and medical staff, addressing work-related injuries and health questions. You will develop SOPs, manage budgets for first-aid equipment, and coordinate with the Safety Manager to meet the plant’s safety goals.

You will treat minor illnesses, perform health evaluations, maintain confidential records, and collaborate with HR on health, disability, and leave issues.

Qualifications

• RN or LPN with emergency room or occupational health experience.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Certifications in pulmonary function and audiometric testing desired; obtainable after hire if not held.
• Certified or capable in Kinesio Tape technologies.
• Strong communication across a diverse workforce.
• Experience in disability and/or workers' compensation preferred.
• Knowledge of FMLA and leave components preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Typing speed 40+ wpm.
• Available for first shift hours 6:30AM–3:00PM; occasional overtime.

Requisition Summary

The Occupational Health Nursing Supervisor manages the onsite first-aid clinic and medical staff in supporting employees with both work related injuries and non-work-related health questions. This position will also be responsible for creating and maintaining general operating procedures for the clinic, maintaining budgets for first aid medical equipment and supplies, consulting with off-site physician clinics, providing additional resources to the business as changes demand, and working closely with the Safety Manager in the identification and prevention of injuries/accidents. This role reports to the Human Resources Manager and works closely with operations, manufacturing engineering, and facilities to achieve the plant’s overall safety goals.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• Treats minor illnesses or injuries and provides immediate emergency care as necessary. Coordinates Supervisors and/or consulting physician in arranging referral and transportation for additional medical care when necessary.
• Executes emergency medical response when need arises.
• Participates in early intervention for strains and sprain injuries with our third party intervention team.
• Co-Administers worker’s compensation program with Safety Manager
• Prepares and maintains clinical or case histories, treatment records and other confidential patient data.
• Conducts health evaluations of applicants and employees, including but not limited to pulmonary function testing, audiometric testing and substance abuse screening.
• Collaborate with Human Resources Department on issues of employee health, safety, disability/fit-for-duty, and other pertinent personnel issues.
• Maintains drug and medical supplies, issues protective equipment and maintains related medical records.
• Administers health and wellness programs as needed. Provides counsel to employees as necessary.
• Assists in administering the plant’s safety goals by providing input on work related injuries/illness trends coming into the Safety & Health department while working closely with physicians regarding work restriction forms.
• Support overall department objectives, duties, events and other tasks as assigned by manager.

Qualifications & Skills

• Registered Nurse or LPN and/or Equivalent certificate with emergency room or occupational health experience required
• 5 years of related experience required
• Supervisor experience preferred
• Certified in pulmonary function and audiometric testing desired. Ability to obtain these certifications after being hired is required if not already held.
• Certified in administering Kinesio Tape technologies or the ability to become certified.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally within all levels of a diverse workforce
• Experience in disability and/or worker’s compensation strongly desired
• General understanding of FMLA and other leave components strongly desired
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite required
• Ability to type 40+ wpm required
• Must be able to work first shift hours of 6:30AM – 3:00PM. Occasional weekend, evening, or early morning overtime hours may be required with sufficient notice.

Salary Information

The salary range for Occupational Health Nursing Supervisor is $90,400 – $129,100 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for a full range of benefit options listed above.
