Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (Weekends as needed, flexibility as needed)

Travel Requirements: 0-5%

Job Summary:

The JBS Pork team is seeking an Occupational Health Manager. The Occupational Nurse Manager (ONM) is an RN currently licensed to practice in the state of employment. Manages Occupational Health activities, supervises two or more employees, and is responsible for direct care of employees according to medical directives, policies/procedures, physicians’ standing orders, and within the scope of practice and regulations of the State Nursing Practice Act. Directs, administers, supervises, and evaluates the site occupational health service department with professional expertise and administrative leadership.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains an efficient occupational health care process appropriate to the needs of the facility with respect to the size and nature of work activities.
  • Manages Occupational Health staff and ensures standardized application of policy and quality of nursing care. Ensures adherence to health management protocols, medical directives, policies and procedures, and physicians' standing orders while following guidelines indicated by the Occupational Health Manual.
  • Ensures proper documentation of care provided meets legal requirements and provides continuity of care. Adheres to HIPAA and partner confidentiality to ensure compliance of confidentiality of employee’s personal information. Establishes, maintains, and reviews a recordkeeping system that ensures confidentiality. Complies with all state and federal regulations including OSHA and Worker’s Compensation. Maintains OSHA log.
  • Provides compassionate, quality care to employees, including assessment, first aid, follow-up care, rehabilitation, and case management. Also provides first aid, minor treatment, counseling, referral, and medical liaison for non-occupational health concerns.
  • Coordinates all worker’s compensation management including compliance with state regulations, reporting cases requiring outside medical care to the TPA, and initiating internal cases. Conducts tasks professionally and ethically.
  • Schedules health assessments and evaluations for return-to-work, fitness for duty, and medical surveillance in accordance with protocols and physician directives.
  • Oversees compliance of drug and alcohol testing according to company programs.
  • Delivers direct care within the scope of practice and regulations of the State Nurse Practice Act, adhering to health policies and directives.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary: Min. $67,878 - Mid. $82,471.50 (based on experience)
