Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System – KU MedWest is seeking an Ambulatory Clinic RN for Occupational Health on a part-time schedule (Mon & Tue 7a–7p, every other Wed). The RN will provide care in the ambulatory setting, using the nursing process and independent judgment to meet patient needs.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, initial assessments, recognizing unstable conditions, teaching patients and families, and proper documentation.

Qualifications

• RN license required in good standing in the state of residence or multi-state license
• Ambulatory clinic experience preferred and beneficial for PRN scheduling

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within ambulatory setting
• Performs preliminary patient assessment
• Evaluates unstable or complex patient care situations
• Implements clinical decisions using independent nursing judgment
• Documents patient information accurately and timely
• Educates patients and families about health concerns and care plans
• Manages referrals, forms and physician signatures as needed
