Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services in Wisconsin is seeking an Associate Project Leader to oversee commercial/industrial construction projects and coordinate multi-trade subcontractors.

You will develop scopes of work, review engineering drawings, and support cost estimates with MS Project, Excel, and other scheduling tools; travel to client sites is expected.

Strong communication, initiative, and teamwork are essential to meet tight timelines and client objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in the commercial or industrial general construction industry.
• Experience managing multiple building renovation and upgrade projects involving multi-trade subcontractors.
• Prior experience with Job Order Contracting (JOC) is highly preferred.
• Experience preparing detailed lump sum, fixed-price estimates based on subcontractor proposals.
• Familiarity with RS Means, Gordian Software or other unit price books for line-item estimating is a plus.

ASSOCIATE PROJECT LEADER

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred
  • An associate degree in a construction or engineering-related field is preferred
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the commercial or industrial general construction industry
  • Proven experience managing multiple building renovation and upgrade projects involving multi-trade subcontractors
  • Prior experience with Job Order Contracting (JOC) is highly preferred
  • Experience preparing detailed lump sum, fixed-price estimates based on subcontractor proposals
  • Familiarity with RS Means, Gordian Software or other unit price books for line-item estimating is a plus
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and project specifications
  • Proficiency with MS Project, Word, Excel, estimating, and scheduling software
  • Experience conducting site visits and writing clear scopes of work
  • Knowledge of Performance-Based Construction principles is preferred
• Interpersonal Skills:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong initiative and attention to detail and willingness to accomplish project timelines and meet client needs and objectives.
  • Ability to interact and negotiate effectively with clients and end users
  • Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Additional Requirements:

• Physical Requirements: Must be able to occasionally climb ladders or lift and move heavy materials, as required by project activities.
• Driving Requirements: Use of a company pool vehicle or driving on client property may be required. A valid driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check are mandatory.
• Pre-Employment Requirements: Candidates must successfully complete a health assessment and pass a pre-employment drug screening prior to hire.
• Background check: Candidate will have projects located at a Houston Airport System location which will require passing a background check and obtaining an Airport Badge. This is a mandatory requirement.
