Job summary

Central City Community Health Center is seeking a Certified Licensed Medical Assistant to provide direct clinical support to providers and patients in a busy clinic setting. The role involves performing both clinical tasks and administrative duties, maintaining patient records, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, and the candidate must have reliable transportation and CA Driver License.

Qualifications

  • Certified Licensed Medical Assistant required.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinic services such as TB skin tests and administration of prescribed medication.
  • Draw blood, give injections, immunizations, read skin tests, obtain lab specimens.
  • Prepare patient for doctor examination and assist physician.
  • Take medical history and check vital signs.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain x-ray and medical records.
  • Inventory of laboratory supplies.
  • Back-office logs and supplies management.
  • Assist with prescription refills.
  • Clean and disinfect exam rooms and lab areas; autoclave instruments.
  • Stock exam rooms and order supplies when low.
  • Participate in quality improvement directives and trainings.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for performing delegated clinical and administrative duties, specifically direct support to primary care providers and some direct care to patients. Responsible to work in partnership with other team members with him will be jointly accountable in achieving clinic goals.

JOB DUTIES

Responsible to perform duties under the direction of the physician or nurse in examination and treatment of patients, including the following:



  • Provide clinic services such as TB skin tests and administration of prescribed medication.

  • Draw blood, gives injections, administer and read skin tests, administer immunizations and vaccinations, obtain laboratory specimens.

  • Prepare patient for doctor examination, position instruments and equipment and assist physician.

  • Take medical history of patients and check vital signs.

  • Schedule appointments and keep x-ray and medical records.

  • Responsible for inventory of laboratory supplies.

  • Responsible for back-office logs (daily/monthly).

  • Responsible for checking oxygen tank and crash cart supplies.

  • Act as assistant for prescription refills.

  • Clean and disinfect exam rooms and lab areas, autoclave instruments.

  • Stock exam rooms; keep track of medical supplies to order when low.

  • Participate and help implement quality improvement directives.

  • Attend all required meetings and trainings.

  • May be required to pick-up vaccines, medical supplies, etc.

  • Consistently demonstrate and uphold CCCHC’s principle of providing quality health and human services to the medically underserved and low-income populations in a culturally sensitive manner.

  • All other duties, as assigned.

  • Required to have knowledge of CHDP guidelines, Immunizations schedule and AAP periodicity table.

  • Must possess dependable transportation, automobile insurance, and a current CA Driver License.

  • Required to have knowledge of CHDP guidelines, Immunizations schedule and AAP periodicity table.



Education and Experience Requirements


  • Certified Licensed Medical Assistant required.




  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
