- 24 hour shift, 7a-7a
- Usually don't work multiple days in a row unless needed/requested
- 700p-700a or 700a-700p shifts available
Clinical Details
- OB ED Hospitalist - covers OB triages- 10-25 patients seen on a 12 hour shift, admits and cares for Uncommitted OB patients- both antepartum, term deliveries and postpartum complications. They also cover GYN ED- phone calls usually 3-5 per shift with Gyn surgery 0-2 per 12 hour shift. They will sometimes be called to back up the OB Laborist shift. SMCS is a large tertiary care hospital with level III nursery.
- OB Laborist - covers all admitted OB services for a large group in Sacramento called Capital OB/GYN. These patients are all MediCal patients with many high risk patients. Deliveries range from 4-10 per 12 hour shift. Physician rounding on postpartum patients -generally 10-25 patients and rounding on admitted high risk antepartum and postpartum patients that are affiliated with CapOBGYN- generally 4-8. In it's ideal state this position will consist of an OB and CNM team but current state - the CNM roles are not yet filled so often one OB/GYN working alone.
