Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Familiarity with medical office procedures

Education & Experience:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire; Red Cross certification may be acceptable at some locations
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • For NJ only: Graduate of an accredited post-secondary medical assisting program with at least 330 hours of instruction, including training in injections
  • For internal Einstein applicants: Medical Assistant certification is not required if transferring within Einstein with a hire date prior to 7/1/2024

The Medical Assistant supports physicians by managing patient flow, performing diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and vital signs. Acts as a liaison to ensure patient satisfaction, maintains supplies, and assists with clinical documentation and procedures while adhering to HIPAA and safety standards.
