Role Overview
As a VA medical reviewer, you will conduct thorough, objective case reviews to assess the quality and appropriateness of care provided to Veterans. This remote, flexible position allows you to contribute your clinical expertise while maintaining your current practice.
What Should I Expect?
- Perform comprehensive medical record peer reviews to determine appropriate clinical outcomes, complying with all State and Federal regulations.
- Make clinical judgments based on experience and evidence-based research as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in your specialty.
- Maintain compliance with regulation changes affecting medical and utilization review practices.
- Document review information as instructed.
- Communicate report results to the supervisor.
- Access electronic health information as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current medical license.
- Board certification within your clinical specialty.
- Minimum of 20 hours per month currently working in your specialty.
- At least 5 years of full-time direct care experience.
- Active patient care within the last 3 years.
