This Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is expanding its team with a full-time position for an obstetrician and gynecologist at the Mankato campus. The role is designed for a Generalist who will have the opportunity to work in a newly completed, state-of-the-art birthing center. This center features seven labor and delivery rooms, each equipped with advanced patient monitoring technology and birthing tubs for hydrotherapy. Additionally, there are twelve postpartum rooms designed for comfort and care.
The labor and delivery services are supported by a dedicated team of physicians and certified nurse midwives, who provide primary care for low-risk patients and collaborate closely with a skilled nursing team.
The Mankato campus offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment, with a team of five nurse midwives who are integral to primary obstetric care, working in concert with five OB/GYN physicians for secondary support. The practice includes a busy clinic and a well-established surgical practice, providing a wide range of services and opportunities for healthcare professionals.
The medical center delivers approximately 650 babies annually and is equipped with advanced neonatal care capabilities, including a level II special care nursery and pediatric support, capable of handling deliveries from 32 weeks to full term. The call schedule is manageable to promote work-life balance.
Surgical services feature state-of-the-art Da Vinci X robotic systems, with providers focused on Minimally Invasive Surgery for conditions such as endometriosis and fibroids. A board-certified urogynecologist further enhances the comprehensive care offered.
Proximity to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester allows for seamless referral for specialized cases, ensuring high standards of patient care.
The department comprises six board-certified physicians and six advanced practice providers, including five certified nurse midwives and one nurse practitioner, fostering a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment that supports professional development and high-quality patient outcomes.
